Moving Right Along: The 2019 Winter Edition

Roseys first snow Border Collie 11-2019.jpgYesterday was another Manic Monday– Where has the time gone? What have you been up to, Friends and Confidantes? We have lots of catching up to do! It snowed for the first time here in Central Indiana. Has it snowed where you are?

MOVING: Spent crazy hours yesterday on home loan/credit papers, faxing crap, umpteen emails, blahblahblah… I was fried by 6pm. On the bright side– we’re putting in an offer on yet another property this week! YaY!Here’s to hoping the stars align this time 😀 I continue to tidy and pack…

  • WAH 1. new gig:  with my fingers to the grindstone, err keyboard- practicing my transcribing skills. I’ve been accepted by a couple of transcribing companies that work with beginners. I’m so exited for these opportunities.
  • WAH 2.  new direction: The gift design department– will be shifting focus from apparel to home decor {pillows/blankets, tapestries, posters/wall decor} in Gma Auburn’s Teespring Stores; at least through the winter months.
  • The “In Hibernation Mode” Hoodie is available!
  • WAH 3. The cookbook is on hold a wee bit longer. There’s a queue of recipes that need typesetting and pictures need editing. #FreeRecipes will be back tomorrow for Mid-Week Motivation {Wednesdays.}

SIDE JOBS: Weekly-I’m officially helping my 85 yo. Dad clean his house. Pay varies by task/time. Also took a 4-day dog minding job for vacationers, so that fattened the porcelain pig a bit.

SELF-Care: Overall I’m in a pretty good place mentally. I’ve spent the last 5 weeks {give or take} waking up earlier; and spending less time on random/shiny, internet things. Ordered new glasses too, which was long overdue! I’ve been getting eye-strain headaches more frequently; the more time I devote transcribing.

I cut back on coffee and added in a lunch break… for an actual lunch! Yay food! However, I’ve gained a few pounds- Boo! So I’m still tweaking dinner and snacks. Ugh :-/

New schedules/New Routines: RT and I had to take on more hourly work for the next 3 to 5 months. As winter settles in, I hope to settle into a new daily pace. I’m making new strides toward home life/work goals and money-saving.

My planner is filling up for the remainder of 2019. My older projects/ideas, online stores and social media accounts are all getting make-overs; with deadlines. I’ve blocked off times for joyous coloring, crafts and reading too 😀 It’s yellow

How are you wrapping up 2019, Friends and Confidantes? Until next time, be warm & safe – Grandma Auburn {Jen} 3 pics: Rosey’s first snowflakes!   #Bordercollie #hibernation #moving #Indiana #snow

Mum’s the Word

Does it feel like early Autumn where you are, Friends and Confidantes? Indiana weather has been cool enough to open the windows. 🙂 Walnuts are falling. Mums are blooming. I’ve frozen tomato sauces, R.T. has a new chicken recipe to post, and Hubby has frozen his jalapeno popper experiments. HA!{But that’s another post.}

Other news at the Tiny Trailer: I don’t wanna jinx it, but I’m keepin’ all the plates spinnin’.  😉 Although moving is at a stand-still for a few more weeks, months; I’ve made progress in the clutter department. Reclaimed the bedroom, living room and half the kitchen! The office hoard has been paired-down by 3 boxes so far.

WAH: They say step out of your comfort zone– so I did. I put a couple of my flower pictures on posters, canvas and blankets. I’m undecided if they’re bold, strange, funky, weird, colorful or crappy…  but they were fun to design 🙂  Lemme know what you think! Sneak Peak: Blossoms1 Fleece Blanket and Pink Rose1.     **Final days for Promo Code: FALLFORALL  {US} or FALL19 {EU}    –Gma Auburn {Jen}

Camping During the Harvest Moon

YAY! Grandma Auburn and Z will be primitive camping this weekend. (along with Captain/her Grandpa, Nosey Rosey the Border Collie and Jasper the Fat HouseCat) There’s so much to teach her. Skills that cannot and should not be lost on the little ones. She’ll be 5 years old next week.

Survival Skills: How to mark her path with arrows out of rocks to find her way back to the campsite. How to set up a tent. How to make a lean-to and keep warm with leaves and brush. Where to find fish worms. Signal S.O.S with a flashlight. Which trees have edible nuts and how to crack them open. Show her constellations in the night sky. Teach her to listen for running water and wild animals. Teach her how to make sassafras tea. Pay attention to the dog. Be quiet. Be stealthy. Leave no trace.

I don’t have a plan. This is our playtime in the forest. This is Grandma Auburn in her element as a child of nature.

Gratuitous Redhead pictures today! Including one of me. Three Generations of Redhead.  Z turns 5 years old next week!  -ME, Z, and RT copyright & DNA: Grandma Auburn

Gratuitous Hoarding Pics!

Subtitled: Work interrupted by chaos and phone calls.

My OFFICE situation begets my mindset. Scattered, mixed-up, white noise in material form. It’s the only room I’ve haven’t started packing yet.  Small room, big angst.

Just a peek! The totes are on top of a dresser. And that’s full too. There’s 2 more bookshelves, the floor-OMG! There’s even a circular saw… you get the idea. 0.o

Friends and Confidantes, {and LIZ!} What is the ONE ROOM that’s the thorn in your paw? –Grandma Auburn **Office packing WILL begin tonight, for sure. *||*Free Shipping is still available before Halloween in my stores:  >Grandma’s Holiday Store< CODE: FALLFORALL Thanks for looking! #halloween #hoodies #christmasdesigns

Moving Part 12: Looking at a Doublewide

In part 11, we backed out of the huge house in the small town due to structural issues. Since then we’ve been beaten to the punch on 2 other properties.  Recently, we viewed a doublewide MH on an acre of woods. 3 bed/2 bath. New roof,, screened porch, patio doors and a wood stove- YAY! {Here we go again!}

{Gratuitous woods and porch pic… at the showing.}Porch pic doublewide

Looking for loans: UGH. They should consider this a house on a foundation, not a mobile home. But she’s older. So we’ve applied with a different mortgage company. Awaiting another pre-appoval letter is torture. As an aside: for anyone purchasing a MH new or used… there are USDA and FHA loans for MH and land/home packages, too.

Getting an inspection and putting in an offer this week – Crossing fingers. {It’s the first place Hubby and I haven’t had some kind of argument over- now that’s a sign 0.o }

Meanwhile snafus abound here at the TinyTrailer… A crack in the van windshield. The lawn mower croaked. Vet and medical bills are due. Rent looming. License plates [x2] are due. Nine prescriptions need re-upped… Can everything just be stasis for a few weeks, please?? It’s already going to be nip and tuck to cover a year’s worth of homeowner’s insurance on top of it all- Yikes!

Work at home and Housework- organizing… I’ve had really good days designing, setting goals and marketing. Later today I’m taking advice from my daughter and Konmari-ing every box/stack of papers hiding in this claustrophobic, mid-moving mess.

Friends and Confidantes, I wish you all a productive Monday- Gma Auburn {Jen}
