Moving: Part 10b- Manic Mon…err Tuesday

What day is it anyhow?  Well, I’ll tell ya… yesterday when I said I felt like I was 3 days behind and missing something?? YUP- It’s the day I find financial documents the loan guy sent on the 24th. {in my spam folder} The deadline is today. Good Grief.

0602021422aAnd now I’m waiting on a call-back for questions. Have I mentioned yet how much I hate numbers, math, and figurin’? There’s 13 documents! I read them twice. My brain is seizing. A few things aren’t right, but articulating them in a coherent way… Pffft.  Be worried. I am.

My tiny Trailer is tore up! About half of each room is packed; the floor is trashed. The dog doesn’t fit in the living room anymore. The wagon train of stacked boxes is snaking its way to the kitchen…

Thus the chaos on all fronts is tweaking my anxiety. The needle is pegging on the high side. Got the shakes inside and out. I’m squirmy… And throw in a little numbness for good measure. Rarely do I take a Xanax; but it’s that kinda second Monday.

Friends and Confidantes, deep breath! Repeat after me, “I will ask all the questions, even if they sound dumb.”  Gma Auburn {Jen}

Moving: Part 9-Pack it Up! We’re Making an Offer Today!

Pothos Close upToday is the DAY! I can’t believe it! After ten days of back and forth with the loan officer- We are approved and he’s gonna float the note. Our realtor is finally drawing up the offer for the old 2 story.   {FHA 203K Loan}

…And Hubby says this morning, “Maybe that’s too much house.” 0.o

Don’t be flip-floppin’ on me now, ole man- I’m not gonna start looking all over again. We’ve seen half the house for twice as much money with no personality whatsoever. I can’t wait to post ‘before’ pictures. She’s got personality in spades! (An old octopus furnace lives in the basement even!)

I’ve been watching YouTube vids about doing AirBnB. It’s quite exciting to embrace this new side gig.  Looking forward to new goals and future plans.Flowers 12

Started packing the house in earnest, yesterday. I’d forgotten just how overwhelming that can get. At least we’re only going 30 minutes away, not cross country.

Life takes unexpected turns and one cannot force the reigns. Friends and Confidantes. It’s like riding a horse that knows the path to the barn better than you do.   From the beginning of our journey looking for land/tiny house/mobile home — to a reasonable mortgage with room for repairs on a house with rooms for guests. -Gma Auburn {Jen} Going where the Universe takes her.

Moving part 5: Foresight and the Sandwich Generation

Do you worry what will happen when your parents can’t care for themselves? Are your grown kids one paycheck away from loosing their place?

Though I tend to fret more than most; I am house hunting with these ‘what ifs” at the back of my mind. I feel I need to have Plan B in place, just in case there’s a scenario…

If hubby gets hurt or sick, can I still swing the house payments and take care of him? {hence the freshly-hatched possibility of a pet friendly B&B in the previous post.}

Working smarter, not harder is beginning to take on new meaning, Friends and Confidants. Am I smart enough, energetic enough, and driven enough to pull this off for the next decade? I don’t know. – Gma Auburn {Jen} Just typing out loud…

A Few Months of Change

Indiana Trail Border Collie Pup Creek

There were several mid May trials that got the best of me. It took time to crumble. More time to rebuild.  In June, I gave myself permission to put the worries & stress on hold; just breathe.  Go be outdoors, plant flowers, play and walk with the pup. I got out of the office; out of the house. Soaked up consecutive days of sunshine… and rain.

I binged watched true crime and inspiring documentaries. My wandering thoughts became a sporadic gratitude journal. Orchestrating both chaos and self care continue.

House hunting is tedious business: Meanwhile- in anticipation- I chased cobwebs, sorted boxes and added color to a couple rooms. Bought a new desk and office chair 🙂 Yay!

Be safe and have a Happy Independence Day!!! – It’s early ’cause I have a crazy busy week lined up with drs. and vet appointments; micro jobs and pet sitting…  and of course there will be plenty of meat and veggies on the grill  😉
